Rathfr/28 November 1989 2 <br /> mom <br /> The analytic results are presented m Table 1 and the chain-of-custody <br /> forms and laboratory reports are included m Attachment C Fuels <br /> characterized as diesel or gasoline were not detected in four of the <br /> composite soil samples and were detected at concentrations ranging <br /> from 4 ppm to 23 parts per million (ppm) m the other five soil <br /> samples Fuels were not detected in the two samples from the pea <br /> � gravel stockpile <br /> r <br /> n <br /> 2 November 1989 WGR collected 16 samples from the soil stockpile and four samples <br /> from the pea gravel stockpile (Figure 4) The soil samples were <br /> composited to four samples and the pea gravel samples were <br /> s compostted to one sample The composites were analyzed for CAM <br /> metals and were tested in a toxicity bioassay program by CCAS <br /> The analytic results indicate that the 4 composite soil samples and 1 <br /> composite pea gravel sample contained only very low concentrations <br /> of each of the metals of concern and were well below the total <br /> threshold limit concentration (TTLC) for each metal The chain-of- <br /> custody forms and laboratory reports are contained in Attachment C <br /> The results of the toxicity bioassays for acute aquatic 96-hr LC50 run <br /> on the composite samples indicate that the soil and pea gravel are not <br /> hazardous or toxic by that criterion Laboratory reports are included <br /> in Attachment C <br /> - RECOMMENDATION FOR DISPOSAL OF SOIL AND PEA GRAVEL STOCKPILES <br /> The results of past investigations and stockpile sampling and the recent two rounds of stockpile <br /> ' sampling indicate that the material qualifies for disposal at a Class Il] facility Fuel hydrocarbons <br /> originally present in the stockpile soils have been successfully aerated to concentrations well below 100 <br /> ppm Aromatic hydrocarbons have never been detected in stockpile samples or samples collected during <br /> the drilling of soil borings (Attachment A) Only very iow concentrations of CAM metal were detected <br /> w the soil and the to)acity bioassay indicates that the material is not hazardous or toxic <br /> 076L2NO9 <br /> .Y <br />
