(Delta), as authorized by Ultramar Inc., destroyed a ground
water monitoring well MW-20 at the above referenced site on October 10, 1994. Monitoring well
MW-20 was located in an area where a new station building is to be constructed. The work was
approved by the San Joaquin County Environmental Health Department under Well Permit
No. 004389. The location of the site is shown in Figure 1 and the previous location of monitoring
• well MW-20 is shown in Figure 2.
Measurements of the total depth and depth to ground water of monitoring well MW-20 were taken
on October 10, 1994, with values of 68.4 feet and 56.15 feet, respectively. The well was destroyed
by pumping grout from the bottom up through a tremie pipe into the 4-inch casing. The well was
grouted to within 1.5 feet of the ground surface.
The calculated volume of the well was approximately 0.25 cubic yards. The actual volume of grout
used was approximately 0.33 cubic yards, indicating that the well and void spaces in the adjacent
formation were adequately sealed.
We recommend that you forward copies of this report to:
Mr. Harlin Knoll Mr. James Maughan
Environmental-Health Division California Regional Water Quality
Public Health Services Control Board, Central Valley Region
San Joaquin County 3443 Routier Road
'1601 East Hazelton Avenue Sacramento, California 95827
Stockton, California, 95201
If you have any questions regarding this letter report, please call me at (916) 638-2085.
Sincerely,
DELTA ENVIRONMENTAL CONSULTANTS, INC.
Richard E.
