Upgradient Environmental Consultants
November 9, 1995
Ms . Diane Hinson
San Joaquin County Environmental Health
304 E . Weber _
Stockton, CA 95201
Subject: Site Contamination Work Plan
J & L Market
8115 South ,E1 Dorado Street
French Camp, CA 95231
Dear Ms . Hinson:
On Wednesday, November 8 , Elite IV Contractors removed three
underground storage tanks and related piping and dispensers from J
& L Market in French Camp, California. Jerry Yoshioka of EHD
witnessed the tank removal and the required soil sampling, which
was performed by Upgradient Environmental . Gasoline odors were
present in the soil beneath one of the dispenser islands , and Elite
IV therefore requested that the samples from that area be analyzed
on 24-hour turnaround. Elite IV also requested Upgradient to submit
as quickly as possible a work plan to excavate the contaminated
soil . Elite IV would like to remove the contaminated soil during
the week of November 13, so that new UST' s and dispensers can be
installed as soon thereafter as possible. We request that you or a
. staff member review the attached work plan at the earliest possible
time and contact Elite IV to schedule the work.
We look forward to receiving approval to move forward.
Thank you for your cooperation.
Sincerely,
" /
Victor B .
