These samples are convenient for
verifying analyses not covered by the EPA list or for obtaining reference
samples on a more frequent bases. Results supplied by these samples contain
expected recoveries and 95% confidence limits.
5.4.3 EDL -Generated Check Samples
When outside reference solutions are not available the check sample
should be prepared by the laboratory QA officer. Such check samples should
be made up from stock solutions other than those being used as analytical
standards.
6.0 LABORATORY AND INFORMATION A ITS
6.1 ZISlity Control Res22nsibilities
The Quality Control Officer plays a key role in the QA audits.
Working closely with the Laboratory Director, the QC officer reviews the
total data generation process by evaluating the effectiveness of the
established standard operation procedures of the projects, chain -of -custody
' procedures, data reporting system and overall laboratory quality control
practices. On the analytical level, the QC officer will verify proper
analysis and reporting of quality control samples, calibration checks and
instrument maintenance.
Prior to the initiation of a project, the QC officer will determine
any changes that are necessary to ensure that the quality assurance
Procedures meet project requirements.
