ENVIRONMENI HEALTH
Environmental Health Department PERMIT/SERVICES
San Joaquin County
Dear Ms Abate,
On May 20, 2004 while auditing our facility (DVI-East) at 7150 Arch Road, Stockton, you
issued a Notice to Abate. Found at the facility was one 55 gallon drum with a residual of paint
thinner, a 5 gallon pail with a small amount of paint thinner, and two fluorescent light tubes. All
this items are considered hazardous waste. DVI was given until June 20, 2004 to abate and
remove the hazardous waste.
As of June 7, 2004 these issues have been abated. The containers of unused paint thinner were
removed to DVI along with the two fluorescent lamps. The paint thinner will be used for
intended and labeled purposes. The 55-gallon drum was emptied and will be reconditioned and
used for storage of waste solvents or thinners. The 5-gallon pail has been labeled and added to
existing stock. The fluorescent lights were removed to the 90 day storage building and will be
processed as Universal Waste and removed for recycling.
I believe that DVI-East is now clear of any hazardous waste and we can discontinue the status as
a Hazardous Waste Generator.
If you have questions or comments, I can be reached at 209-835-4141, extension 5090.
Cordially,
—7ac.
