Mr. Robinson indicated that if rags are not completely soaked they are placed in the garbage cans on site. Absorbent socks and oil contaminated rags were observed in garbage cans. A hazardous waste determination taking into account hazardous properties has not been made for this waste. Any person who generates a waste shall determine if the waste is a hazardous waste. Immediately stop disposal of the oily absorbents in the trash, make a hazardous waste determination for the contaminated absorbent material, and manage it according the Title 22 hazardous waste regulations. Submit a statement and supporting documentation explaining how this waste was managed. This is a minor violation.
