The facility has several containers and 55 <br /> gallon drums which contain bowling ball manufacturing chemicals, lane conditioning and lane cleaning <br /> chemicals. Some of the containers and drums appear to be old. Nelson Beaudet indicated that four <br /> containers are waste. These containers are Aropol CF Resin (55 gallons), Component B Polyol (2 x 20 <br /> gallons) and an unlabeled 30 gallon container of oily-liquid. Make a hazardous waste determination as <br /> specified in Title 22 California Code of Regulations on all waste in these containers and drums. <br /> Hazardous waste can be toxic, reactive, ignitable or corrosive. Hazardous waste must be hauled from <br /> the site by a registered hazardous waste hauler. Keep disposal records at the facility for three years. <br /> Send a statement to the Environmental Health Department (EHD) <br /> by July 21, 2010 which includes a list of which containers and drums are waste, the hazardous waste <br /> determination documentation and how disposal will be handled. <br /> Notice to Comply <br /> #8) Managed a hazardous waste without an EPA number. The facility does not have an EPA <br /> identification number for this address. Obtain an EPA ID number using the provided form from the <br /> California Department of Toxic Substances Control. Use this number for disposal of hazardous waste. <br /> Provide this EPA number to the EHD by July 21, 2010. <br /> #11) Facility not maintained to minimize the release of a hazardous waste. A two gallon container of <br /> lane cleaner concentrate fell over and had spilled some of its contents onto the ground. The container <br /> was not picked up and the concentrate on the ground was not cleaned up. Cleanup all spills promptly <br /> and make a hazardous waste determination on the spill waste as specified in Title 22 California Code of <br /> Regulations. Correct immediately. <br /> #14) Spill control equipment not provided. The facility does not have equipment to clean up hazardous <br /> waste spills. The EHD recommends using rags and absorbent to cleanup spills and store the spill waste <br /> in sealed containers or drums. Correct immediately. <br /> #52) The facility does not have a modified contingency plan for this address posted by facility <br /> telephones for use by employees. Fill out and post the provided form (or equivalent).
