f 4 PRECAUTIONARY STATEMENTS HAZARDS TO HUMANS AND DOMESTIC ANIMALS DANGERI Fatal if swallowed, inhaled, or absorbed through the skin. Do not breathe dust. Do not get in eyes, on skin, or on clothing. Wear freshly laundered, long-sleeved work clothing daily. While trans- ferring from package to equipment, wear a clean cap, gloves (rubber or cotton) and goggles. If cotton gloves are used, they must be laundered or discarded after each day's use. Rubber gloves should be washed with soap and water atter each use. Do not wear the same gloves for other work. Destroy and replace gloves frequently. In case of contact, immediately remove contaminated clothing and wash skin thoroughly with soap and water. Launder clothing and de- contaminate shoes before reuse. Wash thoroughly with soap and wa- ter before eating or smoking. Bathe at the end of the work day and change clothing. Do Not Breathe Dust Wear a face mask or other respiratory equipment while emptying bags of product into a hopper. While emptying bags into equipment, pour downwind and allow as little free tall as possible. Do not pour at face level and do not allow dust to reach the breathing zone. Do Not Contaminate Food or Feed Products Once a bag has been opened, use it completely. Make sure the hop- pers are emptied while still in the field. Refer to STORAGE AND DIS- POSAL statement for further instructions. Keep All Unprotected Persons Out c.f Operating Areas. Do not apply this product in such a manner as to directly or through drift expose workers or other persons. Keep Out of Reach of Domestic Animals Not For Use or Storage In or Around the Home RE-ENTRY STATEMENT Do not enter treated areas wWhout protective clothing until treatments have been completed. Because certain states may require more restrictive re-entry intervals for various crops treated with this product, consult your State Depart- ment of Agriculture for further information. Written or oral warnings must be given to workers who are expected to be in a treated area or in an area about to be treated with this product. When oral warnings are given, warnings shall be given in a language customarily understood by workers. Oral warnings must be given if there is reason to believe that written warnings cannot be understood by workers. Written warnings must include the following information: DANGER. Area treated with THIMET on (date of application). Do not enter without protective clothing. Fields may be re-entered on day of treatment with sod applications of THIMET 20-G. Do not enter corn fields within 7 days after plants have been treated with foliar applications. ENVIRONMENTAL HAZARDS Product is toxic to fish, shrimp, crab, birds and other wildlife. Birds and other wildlife in treated areas may be killed. Keep out of lakes, streams, ponds, tidal marshes and estuaries. Do not apply where runoff is likely to occur. Do not apply when weather conditions favor drift from areas treated. Do not contaminate water by cleaning of equipment or disposal of wastes. Shrimp and crab may be killed at application rate recommended on this label. Do not apply where these are important resources. Apply this product only as specified on this label. This pesticide is toxic to bees exposed to direct application. Appli- cations should be timed to coincide with periods of minimum bee activity, usually between late evening and early morning. STORAGE AND DISPOSAL Storage Store pesticide products in a secure locked area where children, unauthorized persons and animals cannot enter. Do not store in the same area with food or feed. Do not store opened bags. Prohibitions Do not contaminate water, food or feed by storage or disposal. Open dumpings prohibited. Cover or incorporate spills. Pesticide Disposal Pesticide wastes are acutely hazardous. Improper di:,posal of ex- cess pesticide, spray mixture, or rinsate is a violation of Federal Law. If these wastes cannot be disposed of by use ac(zrding to label instructions, contact your state pesticide or Environmental Control Agency, or the hazardous waste representative a, the near- est EPA Regional Office for guidance. Container Disposal Completely empty bag into application equipment. Then dispose of empty bag in a sanitary landfill or by incineration, or, if allowed by state and local authorities, by burning. If burned, stay out of smoke. General Consult federal, state or local disposal authorities for approved alternative procedures such as limited open burning. CALL A PHYSICIAN AT ONCE IN ALL CASES OF SUSPECTED POISONIVC. DIRECTIONS FOR USE 4 It is a violation of Federal Law to use this product in a manner inconsistent with its labeling.
