1 0 INTRODUCTION <br /> On behalf of Mr Bachitar Singh, owner of the Jahant Food and Fuel property, Ramage <br /> Environmental has prepared this Request For No Further Action for submittal to the San Joaquin <br /> County Environmental Health Division (EHD) and the Central Valley Regional Water Quality <br /> ' Control Board (RWQCB) This document also includes the results of groundwater monitoring, <br /> sampling and analysis for the Fourth Quarter of 2002 <br /> ' 1 1 Site Location and Description <br /> The subject property is located at 24323 North Highway 99 in the town of Acampo in northern San <br /> Joaquin County, California (Figure 1) The property is situated immediately west of Highway 99 <br /> and immediately north of the Jahant Road exit ramp It is an active gasoline and diesel fuel <br /> service station and mint-market An operating domestic well is located approximately 100 feet <br /> northwest of the former USTs (Figure 2) <br /> 1 2 Previous Work <br /> 1 2 1 Removal of UST System, Soil Sampling, and Over-excavation <br /> On January 22, 1998, under EHD observation, L&M Construction removed three underground <br /> storage tanks (UST) at the site The removed USTs included two 10,000-gallon and one 6,000- <br /> gallon unleaded gasoline steel tanks According to the EHD inspection notes, each of the USTs <br /> ' was in poor condition, but without noticeable holes The UST excavation was extended to the <br /> north to include the southern dispensers on both dispenser islands The northern ends of both <br /> islands did not include dispensers A total of eight soil samples were collected from the <br /> excavation Two soil samples were collected from beneath each of the three USTs and one soil <br /> sample was collected from each of the former dispensers The soil sample locations are shown <br /> on Figure 4 <br />' All eight of the soil samples were analyzed for Total Petroleum Hydrocarbons (TPH)-as-gasoline <br /> and benzene, toluene, ethylbenzene, xylenes (BTEX) by Modified EPA Method 802018015, for the <br /> oxygenate additive compounds methyl tertiary butyl ether (MTBE), di-isopropyl ether (DIPE), ethyl <br />' tertiary butyl ether (ETBE), tertiary amyl methyl ether(TAME) and tertiary butanol (TBA) by EPA <br /> Method 8260, and for total lead by EPA Method 6010 <br /> 4 <br />
