1 <br /> • 1.0 INTRODUCTION <br /> On behalf of Mr Bachitar Singh, property owner for the Jahant Food and Fuel site, Ramage <br />' Environmental has prepared this Mon►tonng Well Installation and Groundwater Mon►tonng Report <br /> for submittal to the San Joaquin County Public Health Services Environmental Health Division <br /> (PHS/EHD) and the Central Valley Regional Water Quality Control Board (RWQCB) The scope <br /> of work was completed according to Ramage Environmental's Letter Work Plan, Monitoring Well <br /> Installation and Groundwater Sampling dated August 13, 2001 On September 13, 2001, <br /> PHS/EHD approved the work plan (Appendix A) <br /> 1 1 Site Location and Description <br /> The subject property is located at 24323 North Highway 99 in the town of Acampo in northern San <br /> rJoaquin County, California (Figure 1) The property is situated immediately west of Highway 99 <br /> and immediately north of the Jahant Road exit ramp it is an active gasoline and diesel fuel <br /> service station and mini-market (Figure 2) An operating domestic well is located approximately <br /> 100 feet northwest of the former USTs (Figure 2) <br /> i <br /> 1 2 Previous Work <br /> 1 2 1 Removal of UST System, Soil Sampling, and Over-excavation <br /> On January 22, 1998, under PHSIEHD observation, L&M Construction removed three <br /> underground storage tanks (UST) at the site The removed USTs included two 10,000-gallon and <br /> one 6,000-gallon steel unleaded gasoline tanks According to the PHSIEHD inspection notes, <br />' each of the USTs was in poor condition, but without noticeable holes The UST excavation was <br /> extended to the north to include the southern dispensers on both dispenser islands The northern <br /> ends of both islands did not include dispensers <br /> A total of eight soil samples were collected from the excavation Two soil samples were collected <br /> from beneath each of the three USTs and one soil sample was collected from each of the former <br /> dispensers These sal sample locations are shown on Figure 3 All eight of the soil samples <br /> were analyzed for Total Petroleum Hydrocarbons (TPH)-as-gasoline and benzene, toluene, <br /> ethylbenzene, xylenes (BTEX) by Modified EPA Method 802018015, for the oxygenate additive <br /> compounds methyl tertiary butyl ether (MTBE), d+-isopropyl ether(DIPS), ethyl tertiary butyl ether <br /> (ETBE), tertiary amyl methyl ether (TAME) and tertiary butanol (TBA) by EPA Method 8260, and <br /> for total lead by EPA Method 6010 <br /> 5 <br />
