2.0 SCOPE OF WORK
The objectives of the proposed site investigation are to evaluate the vertical extent of impacted sod
beneath the north end of the middle former UST and to determine if groundwater has been
impacted by gasoline hydrocarbons To achieve these project objectives, a scope of work
consisting of the following four tasks is proposed
1 Planning and Permitting
2 Soil and Groundwater-Grab Sampling and Analysis
3 Water Well Sampling and Analysis
4 Site Investigation Report
2.1 Planning and Permitting
The planning and permitting task will include the preparation of a health and safety plan and the
acquisition of a permit from PHSIEHD
i
I
Prior to initiating fieldwork, a site-specific health and safety plan will be prepared in accordance with
29 CFR 1910 120 The health and safety plan will include safety procedures for work to be
performed, chemical hazard information, site safety officers, and a medical emergency location
To perform the proposed scope of work, a permit will be obtained from PHSIEHD Since the
' proposed soil boring is located on-site, neither encroachment permits nor private property access
agreements will be required
At least two working days prior to field work, PHSIEHD will be notified so that any inspections can
be scheduled Underground Service Alert will also be notified to perform a utility clearance
inspection
2.2 Soil and Groundwater-Grab Sampling and Analysis
To evaluate the vertical extent of impacted soil beneath the north end of the middle former UST and
to determine if groundwater at this location has been impacted by gasoline hydrocarbons, one soil
boring will be drilled for soil and groundwater-grab sampling and laboratory analysis The location
of the proposed soil boring is shown on Figure 3
r
7
