4 0 RECOMMENDATIONS <br />' Based on the review of available case data, Ramage Environmental recommends the following <br />' course of additional environmental corrective action <br /> I Prepare a work plan for regulatory submittal and approval outlining work tasks to define the <br />' extent of impacted soil and possibly groundwater beneath the northern end of the former <br /> Tank 2 The scope of work should include the drilling of at least one soil boring through the <br /> area of impacted soil During drilling, the encountered soil should be field screened and <br /> sampled at five-foot intervals The soil boring should be advanced until field screening <br /> suggests that the vertical extent of impacted soil is adequately delineated or until <br />' groundwater is encountered If groundwater is encountered, a groundwater-grab sample <br /> should be collected for laboratory analysis <br />` 2 Upon regulatory approval of the work plan, solicit three bids for UST Cleanup Fund cost pre- <br /> approval Further environmental corrective actions should not proceed until the anticipated <br /> costs have been pre-approved by the UST Cleanup Fund <br /> 3 Based on the results of the additional soil boring, request case closure or recommend a <br /> revised course of environmental corrective action <br /> 1 <br /> 6 <br />
