Corrective Action Plan Page 37
Disposition of Clean Soil
When the total volume of soil to be treated has been shown statistically to the requisite
degree of confidence to be free of detectable traces of gasoline or its components, the soil
spread over the treatment area for aeration will be graded to reduce its thickness to about
3 in or less and then the whole of the treatment area will be thoroughly rototilled to a
depth of at least 6 in to blend the clean, treated material with the substrate as a beneficial,
soil amendment At that point the treatment program will be complete and the area will be
returned to routine agricultural use
SITE RESTORATION
Paving
When back filling of the remedial excavation is compete, the 152 East 11th Street site will
be graded, compacted and re-paved with 4 in of bituminous macadam If the concrete
paving of the sidewalks has been damaged by the remediation work, the affected areas will
be restored, or, as necessary, the existing sidewalk paving will be removed over the
entirety of both street-side frontages of the site and new concrete paving will be laid
throughout All work to restore the sidewalks will comply with the requirements of the
City of Tracy Public Works Department
Replacement of Groundwator-Quality Monitoring Wells,
When the site has been re-paved, two groundwater quality wells will be installed on the
152 East i 1th Street property to replace existing wells NAV I and NAV 3 which will be
destroyed when the remedial excavation is opened The new wells will be designated NAV
9 and NAV 10 Their proposed locations are shown on Figure 6 These locations are
intended to provide for future monitoring of groundwater quality within the interior of the
existing plume of groundwater affected by components of hydrocarbons However, their
exact locations may be adjusted based on consideration of future construction on, or use
of, the property that might be determined at the time the wells are scheduled for
installation Note It is recognized that existing monitoring well NAV 4 may be damaged
by the close approach of the remedial excavation to its location at the back of the sidewalk
on the "F" Street frontage of the property (see Figure 6 for location) If that should occur,
well NAV 4 will also be replaced
The replacement monitoring wells will each be installed to a total depth of 20 ft in borings
sunk using a drilling ng equipped with an Sin open-stem auger The borings will be
' logged under the direction of a licensed geotechnical engineer The well casings will be of
2m diameter PVC with 0 021n machine cut screen slots These and other details of the
well construction are shown on Figure 12
While the borings for the proposed monitoring well are being drilled, the drilling
equipment will be used to recover soil samples in clean brass tubes from a depth of 5 ft in
