r} <br /> �J a <br /> Extended Iitvestigatton of Groundwater Quality - 152 East 11th Street, Tracy Page 2 <br /> INTRODUCTION <br /> This report documents work performed to extend investigation of the area of the <br /> subsurface affected by a release of gasoline from underground storage tanks that were <br /> formerly located on property at 152 East 11th Street, Tracy, California It documents the <br /> installation of four additional groundwater monitoring wells that were added to the existing <br /> array of wells on June 16th and 17th 1993 and presents the results of a comprehensive <br /> round of sampling of all wells at the subject property and at the Beacon Station located <br /> across the street at 153 East 11th Street that was conducted on July 8th 1993 <br /> SITE LOCATION <br /> The subject property is situated at No 152 East 11th Street, Tracy, California This <br /> location is shown on Figure 1 An area plan is presented as Figure 2 <br /> BACKGROUND <br /> The property at 152 East 11th Street was operated as a gasoline station from <br /> approximately 1946 until 1978 Over that period, the station was operated by a number of <br /> entities that included Benny's Signal Service Station, Coffey's Signal Service Station, <br /> Bob's Enco Gas Station and Terrible Herbst Inc Terrible Herbst Inc installed one 10,000 <br /> gallon and two 3,000 gallon underground storage tanks in 1972 <br /> Mr and Mrs Carl Navarra and Mr and Mrs Albert Navarra (the Navarras) purchased the <br /> property in December 1978 from the San Diego Armour Oil Company No fuel <br /> dispensing or service station operations have been conducted on the site since that time <br /> The property is now occupied by Russel's Flower Pavilion <br /> In April 1984, the three tanks described above were removed from the site under the <br /> permit and oversight of the City of Tracy No soil or groundwater samples were taken at <br /> the time the tanks were removed. <br /> PREVIOUS INVESTIGATIONS <br /> In March 1988, followmg a request from the California Regional Water Quahty Control <br /> Board - Central Valley Region (RWQCB), the Navarra% arranged for WaterWork of <br /> Sacramento, California to perform a site investigation. The mvestigation included <br /> installation of four groundwater monitoring wells These wells are shown on Figure 2 and <br /> are designated NAV 1 through NAV 4. In April 1988 WaterWork recovered samples <br /> from the wells The samples were analyzed for hydrocarbon fuel components The results <br /> of the mvestigation were reported to the RWQCB Another round of groundwater <br /> sampling from the Navarra wells was performed in January 1983 by The San Joaquin <br /> Company Inc and the results reported to the San Joaquin County Health Services, <br /> Environmental Health Division (SJCPHS) <br /> i <br /> i <br />
