SUMIDEN WIRE PRODUCTS CORPORATION <br />DOT SECURITY & SAFETY PLAN <br />TO COMPLY WITH DOT TRAINING REQUIREMENTS <br />Title: 172.707 <br />The purpose of this Security & Safety Plan is to ensure that all offsite personnel handling or transporting <br />Environmental Sensitive Materials such as Hazardous Materials, Hazardous Waste and / or Non -Hazardous <br />Waste to / or from this location are properly identified, and all visitors are to be escorted in the areas of <br />Hazardous Materials, Hazardous Waste, such as the Bulk Storage Acid Tank, Bulk Storage Caustic Soda <br />Tank and Wastewater Balance Area etc. <br />PLAN <br />• The Plant Manager will assign a designee to act in his / her stead, and that person will normally be <br />either the On -Shift -Supervisor or the Shipping / Receiving Supervisor who may delegate <br />responsibilities to their subordinates. <br />• The Plant Manager or designee will schedule all trucks for removing or delivering Hazardous <br />Materials, Hazardous Waste and Non -Hazardous Waste. <br />• The Plant Manager or designee will prepare the Manifest or Bill of Lading in the case of a pickup <br />and will schedule all delivery / pickup dates. <br />• The Plant Manager or designee will provide the completed Manifest or Bill of Lading to the <br />employee responsible for presenting the manifest to the driver in the case of a load pickup. <br />• The employee presenting the Manifest or Bill of Lading will verify that the identification of either <br />the truck or the uniform of the driver corresponds to the company name on the Manifest or Bill of <br />Lading and will retain a copy of all documents given to the driver. The employee will remain with <br />the truck until the truck leaves the companies premises. In the case where materials are being <br />delivered, the employee will stay with the delivery truck until the unloading is completed, the <br />receiving papers are signed and a copy is to be delivered to the Plant Manager or his designee. <br />• The Shipping / Receiving Department must notify either the Plant Manager or his designee <br />whenever a truck arrives for a delivery orip ckup of any hazardous materials. <br />• If any driver arrives to pick-up any hazardous materials or waste without a scheduled pick- <br />up date or a manifest has not been previously prepared, the truck is not to be loaded and the <br />Plant Manager or designee is to be informed immediately. <br />• All Visitors, Including Employees of DTSC, EPA, OES, Cal -OSHA, State, County, City etc. <br />must report in and be escorted to areas in the plant that contain Hazardous Wastes, <br />Hazardous Materials or the Wastewater Balance Area. <br />Revised 3/12/07-wm <br />7 <br />
