SHELTER- IN - PLACE : HAZELTON <br /> NOTIFICATION <br /> FTC will: <br /> i. Remain in place or move to Internal Command Post. <br /> 2. Contact public safety agencies regarding nature of threat. <br /> 3. Inform PHS leadership of threat and actions taken. <br /> Alerting Aides will: <br /> 1. Notify Area Wardens to Shelter-in-Place. <br /> 2. Inform Area Wardens of nature of threat, location of FTC, and to report back to FTC once shelter is <br /> complete. <br /> Area Wardens will: <br /> i. Direct area personnel to Shelter-in-Place. <br /> 2. Direct persons in common areas to shelter in a specific area. <br /> 3. Shelter in the safest proximity to their work area. <br /> 4. Identify and count individuals present. <br /> PREVENT ENTRY & INJURY <br /> FTC/Area Wardens will: <br /> i. Attempt to secure doors of the facility to prevent outside physical threat. <br /> 2. Shut down HVAC system if the threat is a hazardous material. <br /> 3. Fan room near clinic—use IZ key <br /> 4. Fan room in Community Services area <br /> 5. If system cannot be shut down automatically, block vents with towels or other items <br /> Area Wardens will: <br /> 1. Close and lock doors into department area. <br /> z. Gather water and Shelter-in-Place kit. <br /> 3. If hazardous materials are present,seal doors with towels,cloth,or duct tape(located in Shelter-in-Place <br /> Kit—plastic box). <br /> COMMUNICATION: BETWEEN DEPARTMENTS <br /> Area Wardens will: <br /> i. Once sheltered, attempt to contact other groups by all possible means. <br /> z. Advise groups to remain calm and implement shelter procedures in accordance with departmental plans. <br /> COMMUNICATION: PUBLIC SAFETY AGENCIES <br /> FTC will: <br /> i. Maintain contact with public safety agencies and Area Wardens regarding the nature of the threat and <br /> conditions. <br /> 2. Gather employee head-count information from Area Wardens. <br /> 3. Notify Area Wardens to evacuate their areas. <br /> 8 SJCPHS Facility Threat Plan: Hazelton <br />
