Ms. Polly "wry rebri►ary 24, 1993
California Regional Water Quality Control Board Page 2
All these issues require a substantial increase in the financial commitment by Triple E which
mist be addressed to adequately respond to the schedule requested in your January 1993 letter.
Triple E fully understands that your letter requests only a schedule for submittal of certain plans.
The level of activity and financial commitment required, however, to develop the plans as well
as the overall approach is uncertain at this time due to concerns noted above.
Therefore, Triple E is requesting an extension of the submittal date of the schedule to March
30, 1993. We realize this is a considerable extension but we do not want to burden the Board
with hastily submitting a schedule which Triple E could not later support f-inanciaily. In the
meantime, we want to assure the Board that monitoring of the program will continue- per the
requirements of the WDR's and that preparatory engineering work is being done to develop data
for malting the necessary decision. WESTON and Agro Environmental have been authorized
to proceed with engineering sufficient to develop accurate cost estimates for installation of
various types of treatment system designs and for modification of the existing treatment plant.
Review of siting alternatives for the infiltration galleries is also included in this work.
We appreciate your understanding and forbearance; in advance for accepting this extension
request. Should you have any questions, please do not hesitate to call me or Robert Sengebush
here at the WESTON Stockton office.
Sincerely,
ROY F. WESTON, INC.
Yaw V.
