Box 239
Tracy, CA 9537896
-
MONITORING AND REPORTING PROGRAM No. 5-01-873, TRIPLE E PRODUCE, TRACY,
SAN JOAQUIN COUNTY
We have reviewed the 29 October 2001 Comments to Draft Monitoring and Reporting Program (MRP)
for Triple E Produce Groundwater Remediation (Letter) and the 29 October Groundwater Monitoring
Report Third Quarter 2001 (QMR) submitted by Condor Earth Technologies, Inc. on behalf of Triple E
Produce for the facility at 8690 West Linne Road in Tracy(site). The Letter includes five comments with
requests for revisions of the draft MRP. Board staff concurs with two of the requests. The QMR
discusses the results of the September 2001 sampling event and rehabilitation of monitoring well MW-1.
We have the following comments on these documents:
1. Comments 1 and 5 of the Letter request that the language regarding groundwater extraction be
removed from the MRP. It is unclear at this time whether extraction activities may need to be
resumed to address remaining contamination at the site, so this language will remain in the MRP.
The last sentence of the first paragraph in the MRP states that groundwater extraction was ceased
in May 2000.
2. Comment 3 of the Letter states that the current sampling and analysis plan allows a calculation
from the field electrical conductivity measurements to determine total dissolved solids (TDS)
concentrations. MRP No. 96-118 did not specify a calculation for TDS, so TDS data must be
provided through laboratory analysis.
3. The QMR does not include the laboratory quality assurance/quality(QA/QC) control data. Triple
E must include all laboratory QA/QC.
Enclosed is the final MRP No. 5-01-873, which should be implemented at the site during the fourth
quarter 2001.
