The Report discusses the grab groundwater results from seven
cone penetrometer testing(CPT) locations. The results show that the lateral and vertical extent
of total petroleum hydrocarbons as Stoddard solvent and volatile organic compound constituent
pollution is not delineated. The Report recommends continued quarterly monitoring from
existing monitoring wells, installation of a monitoring well northeast of CPT location 6 to
delineate the lateral extent of pollution, and the installation of a multi-level monitoring well in
the area of Monroe Street to determine the lateral extent of pollution.
Board staff concurs with the recommendations in the Report, but the extent of contamination in
the soil has not been investigated. In addition, you need to check with Mr. Mike hifurna of the
San Joaquin County Environmental Health Department regarding regulations for multi-level
monitoring wells. By 21 March 2003,please submit a work plan to install the recommended
monitoring wells as well as to collect soil vapor samples to delineate the lateral extent of
pollution in soil. The work plan should be prepared in general accordance with the attached
Items To Be Included In a Site Assessment Work Plan.
