3.3. CHLORINATED HYDROCARBON-IMPACTED GROUND WATER
'. During the January 2000-sampling event, chlorinated.hydrocarbons were reported-in samples.from
each well-at the site. The chlorinated compound reported with, the highest concentration>in samples',,
collected was cis 1,2-dichloroethene (cis-1,2=DCE).at 840 1 in well MW--6: Low-,concentrations'
,1r
of cis. 1;2-DCE were also reported in samples.from wells MW-1; MW-3,'MW-4,MW-5 sand MW-T
Vinyl chloride was reported in samples from wells MW-3 and MW-6'-at concentrations of 130'gg/1 , y k
and 80 /.cg/l, respectively. I„
Tetrachloroethene(PCE).was reported in samples from each well, with the exception of well'MW-1,1
at concentrations as high as,440µgll. Chloroform was 'reported in sariiples from wells MW-1, N1W ,; u
4; MW-5; MW-6 and MW-7 at concentrations ranging .from 0.74 µg/l and. 1.6 µg11, '1, 2-
dichlorobenzene was detected in samples from wells MW-2;MW-6, and MW77 at,concentrations ,
of 2.8 µg/l, 0.6 4g/l, and 1:0 µg11;respectively. '
Analytical results for chlorinated hydrocarbon compounds;in ground water samples, are summarized
in Table 3. The laboratory report for January(Kiff Analytical report number 159.1'6), QA/QC report
and chair'-of-custody form are included in Appendix E. '
4.0. . SUMMARY '.
'. In summary, AGE found that:
• Between.September,l 999 and Jai-tuary2000, the relative-ground water elevation decreased..
an average of•0.42 feet at the site. F `'
•_ TPH-ss was-not,detected in the newly installed,.down gradient, ground water monitoring'
' wells. BTEX compounds were detected only in the sample from Well!MW=1. ::
Concentrations of PCE reported in the water samples collected from wells.MW6 and^MW7 t I'
exceeded.the Maximum Contaminant Level (MCL),of 5"µgll established by the State of., ,
California - Department of Health Services.
Concentrations of cis`1,2-dichloroethene reported-in'MW&(840 4g11) and MW3 (120 ggll) - ,
