The primary hazards of each are identified as follows: <br /> Z. Hydrocarbon fuels - Components of fuels are colorless liquids with strong aromatic <br /> petroleum hydrocarbon-like odors. They are flammable and have low solubility in <br /> water. Exposure to these materials in excess of recommended exposure limits can <br /> cause mild eye, nose, and throat irritation and can produce a narcotic effect on the <br /> central nervous system. Symptoms of exposure at these concentrations include <br /> headache, nausea, drowsiness, dizziness, and loss of coordination. Certain <br /> components of gasoline (BTE&X etc.) are known or suspected carcinogens. <br /> The following additional hazards are expected on site: typical work related to facility.
