No odor was detected when the water level measurements were taken
in MW-1 and MW-2, MW-3, however, had a strong hydrocarbon odor.
After the groundwater depth was measured in MW-3, a clean bailer
was used to examine the water in the well. No floating product or
sheen was observed but a strong hydrocarbon odor was noted.
The gradient determination calculations are contained in Appendix
A.
CONCLUSIONS AND RECOMMENDATIONS
The gradient is north-northwesterly at 0. 020 ft/ft.
The direction of the gradient is not consistent with data from
other Sites within a half mile of the subject —arcel.
MW-3 has no floating product or sheen. A strong hydrocarbon odor
was noted in the water in the bailer.
This report has been prepared specifically for Mr. Peter Wallace
with specific application to a hazardous waste investigation.
