No odor was detected when the water level measurements were taken
in MW--1 and 14W-2, MW-3, however, had a strong hydrocarbon odor.
The gradient determination calculations are contained in Appendix
A.
CONCLUSIONS AND RECONMENDATIONS
The gradient slope is steeper than anticipated. The slope is much
greater than the slope calculated from the previous measurements.
JPCA intends to remeasure the casing elevations to see if the
present elevations are correct.
The direction of the gradient is not consistent with data from
other sites within a half mile of the subject parcel.
The steep gradient may :jean that groundwater is being pumped from
a well close to the subject parcel.
MW-3 may have floating product, therefore, JPCA recommends that a
bailer be taken on the site during the next month'swater level
measurements to determine if there is floating product in the well.
This report has been prepared specifically for Mr. Wallace with
specific application to a hazardous waste investigation.
