Cummings & Associates (JPCA) is pleased to present the
following report based on a review of prior available data and the
work just completed for the site. The site is located at 348 West
Harding Way, Stockton, CA. Figure 1 is a site location map.
 INTRODUCTION "
Eight Undergr©&ind Storage Tanks (UST) were removed from this site
by Falcon Energy on January 25 and 29, 1991. The tanks contained
Stoddard Solvent used in the dry cleaning process. Seven of the
UST were removed from one large excavation and one UST from another
smaller excavation. UST locations are shown in Figure 2. The UST
removed from the smaller excavation was reported to be in excellent
condition. The other seven were reported, by WaterWork Corp. , to
be in poor condition.
Seven soil samples were collected during the UST removals at depths
.ranging from approximately 9 ft to 24 ft in the large excavation,
Tank Pit 1:-'' Two soil samples were collected from the smaller pit,
Tank Pit Z. All samples were analyzed for total petroleum
hydrocarbonb (TPH) and Benzene, Toluene, Ethylbenzene and Xylene
(BTEX) . Benzene was not detected in excess of 1 part per billion
(ppb) in any of the samples collected. TPH concentrations ranged
from 970 to 3000 parts per million (ppm) in samples from Tank Pit
1. Soil from Tank Pit 2 had neither TPH nor BTEX detected.
Tank Pit 1 was approximately 60 ft by 10 ft, with depths ranging
from 10 to 25 ft. Approximately 400 cu yds. of soil were removed
during the UST removal and later replaced in the pit without
remediation. Tank Pit 2 measured approximately 14 ft by 7 ft by 14
ft deep. The soil removed was placed back into the pit.
1
c) 2,—
