(AGE) on your behalf for the above-referenced site.
In both reports, AGE recommends that monitoring well MW-4, approved by EHD by letter dated December
12, 2006, not be installed, and additional assessment to the west and northeast of the site be conducted to
delineate the lateral extent of petroleum-hydrocarbon-impacted groundwater.
EHD concurs with the recommendation by AGE not to install MW-4 approximately ten feet north of
MW-1, and in the approximate location where cone penetration test (CPT) boring CPT1 was advanced.
Based on "non-detect" analytical results for groundwater samples collected adjacent to CPT1 at
approximately 57, 75, and 107 feet below ground surface (bgs), and soil samples collected at approximately
30, 45, and 55 feet bgs, it appears that chemicals of concern have not penetrated through the predominantly
fine-grained soils found between surface grade and approximately 50 feet bgs, making it unnecessary to
monitor the second groundwater zone.
Proceed with installing a monitoring well approximately 50 feet north/northwest of MW-3 with a screened
interval between approximately 25 and 45 feet bgs, as approved by EHD by letter dated December 12,
2006; and submit a work plan to EHD by April 24, 2008, to investigate the petroleum-hydrocarbon-
impacted groundwater plume to the west of this site.
If you have any questions or concerns, please contact Vicki McCartney at (209) 468-9852, or by email at
vmccartney casjcehd.com.
Sincerely,
Victoria L.
