(AGE) on your behalf for the
above-referenced site. In this work plan, AGE proposes the advancement of three soil
borings to delineate the lateral extent of petroleum hydrocarbon contamination in
groundwater down gradient of the source area. The data generated during the
advancement of cone penetrometer testing (CPT) borings CPT-1 and CPT-2 will be
collected to identify optimal locations for collecting grab groundwater samples from first
groundwater from each proposed soil boring.
EHD approves the above-referenced work plan as submitted. One borehole will be
advanced approximately twenty feet north of boring B5 in the landscaped area adjacent to
the west side of the driveway entering this site from Harding Way; and two boreholes
will be advanced in the landscaped area between the sidewalk and Harding Way on the
north side of Harding Way at locations approximately 115 and 165 feet northeast of
monitoring well MW-1. Grab groundwater samples will be analyzed for total petroleum
hydrocarbons as gasoline (TPH-g); benzene, toluene, ethylbenzene, and total xylenes
(BTEX); methyl tertiary-butyl ether (MTBE), ethyl tertiary-butyl ether (ETBE), di-
isopropyl ether (DIPE), tertiary-amyl methyl ether (TAME), tertiary-butyl alcohol
(TBA), methanol, ethanol, 1,2-dibromoethane (EDB), and 1,2-dichloro ethane (1,2-DCA).
Please submit an encroachment permit from the City of Stockton for advancement of the
off-site soil borings along with well permit applications and permit/inspection fees of
$374 per parcel to EHD by April 2, 2007, for the advancement of these three soil borings
and for fieldwork previously approved by EHD by letter dated December 12, 2006, for
advancement of two CPT borings and paired direct-push borings, and installation of two
monitoring wells.
