(AGE) on your behalf.
Methyl tertiary-butyl ether (MTBE) has consistently been detected above the California
primary maximum contaminant level for drinking water of 13 micrograms per liter (Rg/L)
in monitoring well MW-1 since groundwater monitoring commenced in April 2003.
Further investigation to assess the vertical and lateral extent of impacted soil and
groundwater is needed at this site. Please submit a work plan to EHD by September 19,
2005, to conduct the necessary additional site characterization.
Chemicals of concern have not been detected in MW-2 and MW-3 during any of the
sampling events reported through 2004. Therefore, EHD will consider a reduction of the
sampling frequency of MW-2 and MW-3 if proposed by your consultant.
Laboratory analytical results are not being electronically submitted to GeoTracker — the
State Water Resources Control Board database program. Failure to submit this requested
data constitutes a violation of California Code of Regulations, Title 23, Division 3,
Chapter 30, Sections 3890 - 3895. Electronic transmission of laboratory analytical results
to GeoTracker must be initiated immediately.
Also, the three-onsite monitoring wells must be surveyed and the latitude and longitude
of the groundwater monitoring wells (including permanent sampling point designation)
must be submitted electronically to GeoTracker; and a hardcopy of the survey report
must be submitted to EHD by September 19, 2005.
Please submit a sensitive receptor survey report to EHD of domestic, municipal,
industrial and other wells within a 2,000-foot radius of this site. Contact the Department
of Water Resources, municipal water suppliers, and nearby industries for well
information. Perform a physical search of the area to identify all wells.
