13 November 2000 <br /> AGE-NC Project No. 98-0504 <br /> Page 6 of 10 <br /> Selected soil samples may also be analyzed for intrinsic permeability, moisture content,porosity and <br /> total organic carbon (TOC) in accordance with the appropriate EPA or ASTM methods. <br /> Laboratory reports of both soil and ground water analyses, testing methods, laboraton quality <br /> assurance/quality control (QA/QC) reports, and sample chain of custody documentation will be <br /> presented in a report <br /> 3.5. GROUND WATER SAMPLING AND ANALYSIS <br /> Following the installation of the new monitoring wells, ground water monitoring and sampling <br /> activities will be conducted for all the monitoring wells on a quarterly basis for a minimum of one <br /> year (four sampling events). Additionallv, monitoring activities will include recording depth to <br /> around water measurements and collection of found water samples. Ground water sample collection <br /> protocols are described in Section 4.4. Ground water samples will be analyzed by a DI IS-certified <br /> laboratory for the analvtes noted in Section 3.4. <br /> Laboratory reports for ground water analyses. testing methods, laboratory- quality assurance/quality <br /> control (QA/QC) reports and sample chain of custody documentation will be presented in quarterly <br /> reports with findings and recommendations. <br /> 4.0. FIELD PROCEDURES <br /> All field procedures will be overseen by an AGI: representative under the supervision of a California <br /> Registered Geoiogist, Procedures for the well installation, well development. dedicated lo\v-flow <br /> pump installation. dedicated pressure transducer installation and pump and treat procedures arc <br /> described below. <br /> 4.1. PILOT SOIL BORING <br /> Six pilot soil borings will be advanced at the site to a maximum depth of 40 feet bsg utilizin a <br /> truck-mounted hollow-stem drill rig. Five soil pilot borings w775L established with 8.25-inch <br /> diameter hollow-stem augers to install ground water monitoring wells. One soil pilot boring will be <br /> established with 15-inch diameter hollow-stem augers for the ground water extraction well <br /> construction. <br /> Soil sampies will be collected from each soil boring at five:-foot intervals. Relatively undisturbed soil <br /> samples will be collected in each of the borings using a California modified split-spoon sampler <br /> fitted with 2-inch diameter, 6-inch long, brass sleeves.
