Nqw- 140-11
FAST & EASY MART
- 244 West Harding Way, Stockton, California
Soil Testing Work Plan
1.0 PROJECT IDENTIFICATION
This project will involve two soil borings, with laboratory sampling, in the vicinity of the
underground fuel tanks at the Fast & Easy Mart. Both soil and groundwater will be
sampled and analyzed to determine if a significant release of petroleum has occurred at
this site.
2.0 WORK PLAN
Two soil borings to obtain laboratory soil and groundwater samples have been proposed
as an environmental assessment for a property transaction at this site. The borings shall be
located near the fill pipes and fuel pumps and will be drilled to groundwater (Figure 2).
Soil samples will be collected at five foot intervals for geological interpretation and
laboratory analysis (2 laboratory soil samples per boring). One of the soil samples will be
obtained from the capillary zone
Water samples will be obtained through a temporary (stainless steel) well casing inserted
through the bore hole.
A report of the subsurface investigation containing site map, boring logs, and soil and
.. groundwater sampling records with laboratory data sheets will be prepared at the end of
this phase of work. All work will be conducted under the direct supervision of a licensed
professional.
2.1 Drilling
Permits will be obtained, as necessary, for the borings before drilling begins. The
soil boring will be accomplished using a mobile mounted drilling rig employing
the use of a hollow stem flight auger no less than 3 1/4-inch i.d. and 8 7/8 o.d.
