Box 2009,
;7
Stockton, CA 95201
Subject: Yellow Submarine
Site Code 2514
Dear Mike,
This letter is written to confirm our phone conversations of July 27th
and 28th, regarding the above referenced site in which we discussed
sampling and analytical requirements for the proposed replacement
monitoring well as well as the issue of disposition of excavated soils and
source of backfill material.
The following topics were discussed and understandings reached:
1. Monitoring Well Installation. During the installation of the
proposed monitoring well, samples will be taken at intervals of every
five feet and any major lithologic change. All of these samples will be
analyzed for BTXE, using EPA method 8020 and TEPH, using EPA
method 3550, at Geoanalytical Laboratories, Inc. , of Modesto California,
which is a California DHS certified laboratory. In addition samples
collected from the 20, 40, and 60 foot depths will be analyzed for total
lead (method 6010 or 7420), and any of these samples which equals of
exceed 13 mg/kg, will be analyzed for soluble lead (method 6010 or
7421) .
In the event that PHS/EHD agrees that the backfilled material is clean,
analyses would only be done on samples beginning at a depth of 20 feet
and below. If not, samples will be analyzed from the surface down.
2. Notification of Activities. In addition to notification of your
department by FAX of any activities to be performed on the site, 48
hours prior to the activity, you will be personally contacted by phone
to confirm an appointment.
Telephone (209) 532-8021 Facsimile (209) 532-3809
