Harding Way
Stockton, CA 95202
San Joaquin County Public Health Services, Environmental Health Division
(PHS/EHD) has reviewed the "Phase II - Remedial Investigation Results
Addendum"dated April 2, 1992 submitted by WHF Environmental consultants,
Inc., and has the following comments.
Reports submitted to PHS/EHD for review are to have pagination per 'Tri-
Regional Guidelines, Appendix A-Reporting". Figure 4 failed to identify
depths of samples shown in the diagram and an "X" shown on the diagram had
no identification and no laboratory data sheets could be found to support
values of constituents shown below it. Please resubmit a revised Figure 4
showing depths in feet and properly labeled sampling points. . Include relevant
laboratory data sheets to support values listed.
On March 13, 1992 water samples were taken from MW #3 at 1 p.m. as
witnessed by Michael Infurna of my staff, yet no field logs were submitted with
this addendum. Data secured at this witnessed sampling indicated values that
could effect the validity of this well as the only downgradient monitoring well.
Also missing from the report were field logs for the unwitnessed sampling event
on March 24, 1992. This sampling event was not scheduled nor witnessed and
as such, can not be considered as evidence for your request for site closure.
If previous samples collected were invalid or developed problems at the
laboratory, comments are to be included in the report submitted to PHS/EHD.
Please be informed that the inspections of sampling events are an important
aspect of local regulatory oversight. Prior to any future sampling event, please
contact Michael Infurna, Senior REHS, and obtain a confirmed appointment
time.
A LMvWm or Sm Jopuin County HinM Cate Seivka
