HARDING AVE., SrocKmN, CA
REVISED QUARTERLY GROUNDWATER SAMPLING REPORT
SEPTEMBER 1992
,G
Narrative
On September 30, 1992, WHF Environmental Consultants, Inc., in conjunction with
' HKM, Inc., conducted field measurements, well pumping, and groundwater sampling
on three groundwater monitoring wells located at this site. Monitoring well #3 is being
used for gradient purposes and does not get sampled, due to grout inside the well
casing. The new monitoring well, MW-4, will not be included in the groundwater
gradient. It will be used for groundwater sampling purposes only.
' Groundwater elevations were taken from all four wells prior to the pumping of the
three wells ('Table 1). Each well was evacuated by means of a steam cleaned, stainless
steel bladder-type pump. At least three well volumes were pumped fro each well.
During the three volume pump down of each well, samples were collected to measure
field pH, electrical conductivity and temperature. Once stability was achieved, and a
minimum of three well volumes were removed, the samples were collected. The
samples were then labeled and placed in an ice chest with Blue Ice and crushed ice.
The samples were then logged on a chain of custody and sent to GeoMonitor, Inc., a
state certified laboratory located in Hesperia, California, for analysis. The analysis
requested for the three water samples was EPA method 602 for benzene, toluene, ethyl
benzene and xylenes, and EPA method GCFID 3510 for kerosene. The analytes and
concentrations detected are listed in Table 2 of this report.
The groundwater gradient is currently toward the Southwest.
The groundwater elevations noted in this quarter's measurements are referenced on the
groundwater chart of Table 1 of this report.
