' BL OCKB USTER' VIDEO
YELLOW SUBMARINE
1
140 West Harding Avenue, Stockton, California
' Monitoring Well Installation
1.0 SITE DESCRIPTION
' 14 W Hardin Avenue in Stockton California.
The subject property is located at 0 g ,
The assessors parcel number is 137-07-051. The investigation dealt only with the 140
' W. Harding address (Yellow Submarine property). The subject property is located at
the corners of Madison Avenue and Harding Avenue, and is 100 feet by 100 feet in
size. The area is a commercial/residential mix with residential on the South side of the
property.
' 2.0 SITE HISTORY
' The subject property ywas originally developed in 1932 as a Shell gasoline station and
remained a Shell Station until_1961. From 1961 through 1972, it was an Enco service
station and in 1973, it was an Exxon station. From 1974 to 1977, the site was vacant.
From 1978 through January, 1991, it was a sandwich shop called the Yellow
' Submarine.
In February, 1974, Stockton Fire Department records indicate that four underground
' tanks were removed. The tanks consisted of one 4,000 gallon fuel tank, two 3,000
gallon fuel tanks and one 550 gallon waste oil tank. During the course of WW's
environmental audit of the property, it was discovered that the waste oil tank had not
' been removed. It was also discovered that the building on site had been moved
approximately 25 feet to the south by the Yellow Submarine tenant.
' In June of 1990, Youngdahl & Associates performed a site investigation by making
soils borings on the site. Drilling and sampling was difficult, as they kept running into
"pipes". Some of the sample depths showing contamination were close to the surface.
