TreadweII&MIO
The highest concentrations of petroleum hydrocarbons in soil were detected in boring CSB-2,
located approximately 23 feet cast of AGE Boring B-3 Boring CSB-2 had concentrations of
petroleum hydrocarbons quantified as TPH-d and TPH-g in soil ranging from 16 to 560 mg/kg
and 470 to 4,400 mg/kg respectively Ethylbenzene and xylene concentrations ranged from
below detection limits to 90 mg/kg and below detection limits to 220 mg/kg No benzene or
toluene concentrations were detected in any soil samples
The analytical laboratory qualified the TPH-d and TPH-g detections as not matching the standard
pattern for either compound, and determined that the pattern most closely resembles their
standard for stoddard solvent
4 3.2 Groundwater Results
Groundwater samples were obtained from borings CSB-1 through CSB-4 Prior to sampling, a
new bailer was lowered into each well to look for free product No free product was identified
except for a sheen observed at Boring CSB-2
All the groundwater samples contained concentrations of petroleum hydrocarbons quantified as
TPH-d Relatively low concentrations of TPH-d were detected in Borings CSB-1 and CSB-4 at
130 and 290 ug/1 respectively Boring CSB-3 had concentrations of petroleum hydrocarbons
quantified as TPH-g and TPH-d of 12,000 and 580 ug/l, respectively Boring CSB-2 had
concentrations of petroleum hydrocarbons quantified as TPH-g and TPH-d of 34,000 and
440,000 ug/I respectively No benzene was detected in any groundwater samples, while toluene,
ethylbenzene, and xylenes were detected at boring CBS-2 at 260, 2,500, and 7,100 ug/l,
I
respectively Additional volatile organics were detected at CSB-3 and CSB-4
I
I
The analytical laboratory qualified most of the TPH-d and TPH-g detections as not matching the
standard pattern for either compound As with the soil samples, the laboratory determined that
the pattern most closely resembled their standard for Stoddard solvent
6
25971013 DGD 12 April 2004
