• 28 July 2003 <br /> AGE-NC Project No 03-1038 <br /> Page 4 of 5 <br /> analysis as noted above <br /> TPH-g was detected in the 15- and 20-foot soil samples collected from boring B-3 at concentrations <br /> of 2,000 milligrams per kilogram(mg/kg)and 12,000 mg/kg,respectively Ethylbenzene and xylenes <br /> were detected in the same samples at concentrations as high as 61 mg/kg ethylbenzene and 125 <br /> mg/kg xylenes(B-3-20) MTBE was detected in the I 0-foot soil samples collected from borings B-2, <br /> B-4 and B-5 at concentrations as high as 0 024 mg/kg <br /> Six additional volatile organic compounds were detected in the 15- and 20-foot soil samples <br /> collected from boring B-3 ranging from 0 28 mg/kg p-isopropyltoluene to 180 mg/kg 1,2,4- <br /> tninethylbenzene <br /> TPH-g, TPH-d, ethylbenzene and xylenes were detected in the grab ground water sample collected <br /> from boring B-3 at concentrations of 17,000 gg/l, 12,000 gg/l, 1,300 gg/1 and 2,090 p.g/l, <br /> respectively Five additional volatile organic compounds were detected in the water sample collected <br /> from boring B-3 at concentrations ranging from 73 }ig/l 1,3,5-tnmethylbenzene to 2,700 µg/1 <br /> 1,2,4-tnmethylbenzene Naphthalene was detected in the sample at a concentration of 730 µg/1 <br /> • No other analytes were detected above laboratory reporting limits in the grab ground water samples <br /> analyzed Soil analytical results are summarized on Table 1, ground water analytical results are <br /> summarized in Table 2 Copies of the laboratory reports (CTEL Project numbers CT214-0306192 <br /> and CT214-0307016) are included in Appendix B <br /> CONCLUSIONS <br /> Based on the findings from this investigation, AGE concludes <br /> • TPH-g,BTEX and six additional volatile organic compounds were detected in moderate to <br /> high concentrations in the soil and ground water samples collected from boring B-3 <br /> • Low concentrations of MTBE were detected in the 10-foot soil samples collected from <br /> bonngs B-2,B-4 and B-5 The vertical extent of MTBE-impacted soil has not been defined <br /> The lateral extent of MTBE-impacted soil has been defined east of the site <br /> • The lateral and vertical extent of petroleum hydrocarbon-impacted soil and ground water has <br /> not been defined in the northwest portion of the site, in the area of boring B-3 <br /> Advanced Ceognvironmental,Inc <br />
