T&R proposed advancing up to 20
ging approximately 17 to 57 feet below surface grade,
oxygen injection points at depths ran
covering both the A (above 40 feet bsg) and B zones (below 40 feet bsg), and estimated total
project cost at$48,300.
ORC is a passive treatment technology and it has not demonstrated to be an effective
remediation method for dissolved hydrocarbon contamination in groundwater in San
Joaquin County to date. San Joaquin County Environmental Health Department (EHD)
informed you in a meeting on December 5, 2003, that if you presented
in formation from
sites with similar lithology,' contaminant, concentration, and hydrology where OAC was
shown to have remediated the contamination, EHD would consider the-use of ORC. You
have not submitted this information to date. EHD recommends that you examine other
remedial technologies that have demonstrated to be successful in treatment of groundwater
contamination including ozone injection. EHD has obseived positive effects from ozone
injection in remediation of impacted groundwater at several sites in the county.
t
9
