Treadwell&M&D
A LANGAN COMPANY
5 April 2012
Project: 731589001
Ms. Lisa Medina
San Joaquin County Environmental Health Department
600 East Main Street
Stockton, California 95202-3029
Subject: Addendum to Work Plan
Stockton Arena Hotel and Conference Center
Stockton, California
Dear Ms. Medina,
As requested in your letter dated 21 March 2012 regarding the Former Chase Chevrolet located at
423 North Madison Street, Stockton, CA, we are submitting this addendum to our Groundwater
Monitoring Work Plan. In that letter, you requested that we detail any changes to the work plan,
language that defines the locations for the groundwater monitoring wells, and the reasoning for phased
implementation at the two sites.
Changes to the Work Plan
No changes to the work plan have been proposed. Treadwell & Rollo (T&R) plans to install two
monitoring well clusters on the 423 West Madison Property (formerly known as Area 15). Each well
cluster will contain a shallow well at approximately 30 feet below the ground surface and deep well
at approximately 55 feet below the ground surface. Three monitoring wells to be installed to a depth of
30 feet below the ground surface on the adjacent 420 West Madison Site (former known as the former
Carando Machine Works) will be used in conjunction with the well clusters at Area 15 to measure
groundwater gradients and Flow direction as well as provide additional control on the distribution of
contaminants of concern. In your letter referenced above, you agreed with this approach:
Locations for the Groundwater Monitoring Wells
A site plan showing the location of the proposed monitoring wells is attached as Figure 1. The MW-15-1
cluster is located approximately 40 feet to the northwest of the former well MW-20A, 90 feet east
measured orthogonally from Madison Street, and 185 feet south measured orthogonally from West
Fremont Street. The MW-15-2 cluster is located in the middle of the large excavation area, approximately
80 feet south measured orthogonally from West Fremont Street, 175 feet east measured orthogonally
from Madison Street, and 80 feet north measured orthogonally from the entry of the arena.
i
555 MONTGOMERY STREET, SUITE 1300 SAN FRANCISCO CALIFORNIA 94111 T 415 955 5200 F 415 955 5201 www.treadwelfrollo.com
