Madison St SITE CODE: 1163457
424 N. Van Buren SITE CODE: 2511
Stockton CA
San Joaquin County Public Health Services Environmental Health Division (PHS/EHD) has
reviewed the third quarter monitoring report dated October 7, 1994 submitted by RESNA for
the above referenced site.
The data from the report of the Madison St. site indicate that the downgradient extent of the
plume has been determined to terminate prior to reaching the location of MW-8. The plume has
not been defined south of MW-1. Groundwater data from wells MW-2, MW-4 and MW-5
indicate that these wells are within the fringe of the plume boundary. At this time the off site
extent of the plume east of MW-4 is unknown.
The level of contamination reported in MW-9 located at the northern site property line of the
Van Buren Street site at 60 ppm TPH-g indicates that the downgradient portion of the plume
extends off site to the north. MW-7 and MW-6 also demonstrate elevated contamination levels
and indicate that the plume may extend off site to the west.
Water samples obtained as grab samples from soil boring SB-3, SB-4 and SB-5 indicate elevated
contamination levels in the groundwater at these locations. SB-5 was drilled in the most
upgradient location at the site. Ground water contamination in this location suggests that
contamination is migrating up gradient or there is another source downgradient of the site.
The free product removal system installed at the Van Buren Street site appears to be functioning
to reduce the amount of free product beneath the site.
In a letter dated November 16, 1993 from PHS/EHD to Auto Investments PHS/EHD states that
pursuant to Section 2652(d) of the Underground Storage Tank Regulations (California Code of
Regulations, Title 23, Chapter 16) a quarterly monitoring report shall be submitted to PHS/EHD
and the Central Valley Regional Water Quality Control Board (CVRWQCB) until the
investigation and cleanup of the site is deemed adequate. The report is to show proposed
A Division of San Joaquin County Health Care Services
