1 . 0 INTRODUCTION/PREVIOUS WORK
This report is being submitted to the San Joaquin Local Health
District and Stockton Fire Department for review and approval of
a proposed subsurface assessment and the temporary abandonment of
three underground storage tanks located on the property.
Auto Investments is in the process of selling to the City of
Stockton the properties leased to Chase Chevrolet . The City has
retained a consulting firm for the purpose of preparing an
integrated development plan for all properties adjacent to the
head of the San Joaquin River Channel . The three underground
storage tanks are located on one of the properties to be included
by the city into its overall development plan . The city and Auto
Investments are requesting permission to temporarily abandon the
tanks on site until the city proceeds with the demolition of the
existing structures and rehabilitation of all the properties on
the north bank at the head of the channel . In addition, both the
city and Auto Investments would like to investigate the
subsurface conditions beneath each tank to assess possible
contamination due to leakage or spillage .
Two of the underground tanks, a 500 gallon receptacle for used
motor oil and a 1, 000 gallon receptacle for used motor oil were
installed approximately 24 years ago and have not been in use for
the past three years . The other underground tanks, a 1, 000
gallon tank used for diesel fuel, has not been in use for over 10
years .
2. 0 DATA REQUIRED BY THE REGIONAL WATER QUALITY CONTROL BOARD
.2 . 1 Name and address of site, tank owner and contact person:
Site Location 423 North Madison Street
Stockton, CA 95202
Owner.
