INTRODUCTION -
At the request of Mr Jeffery Setness of Jeff B Setness Professional Law Corp , Advanced
' GeoEnvironmental, Inc (AGE) has prepared this quarterly report summarizing field activities
Performed during the second quarter of 1999 at 423 North Madison Street, Stockton, California The
' scope of work included monitoring concentrations of dissolved petroleum hydrocarbons in ground
water on the site and preparation of this report The site setting is illustrated in Figure 1 - Location
Map Structures and monitoring well locations are illustrated in Figure 2 - Site Plan
Site background information was summarized in the Revised Corrective Action Plan - February
1997, the Site Investigation Report - UST No 8, dated 10 February 1998 and Quarterly Report -
' August 1998, prepared by AGE
' 2.0. PROCEDURES
Field activities were performed in accordance with guidelines for investigation of underground
storage tank (UST) sites established by the Regional Water Quality Control Board - Central Valley
Region (RWQCB-CVR) and by the San Joaquin County Public Health Services - Environmental
tHealth Division (PHS-EHD)
21 MONITORING WELL PURGE PROCEDURES
On 04 May 1999, a Solinst water Ievel meter was used to measure the depth to ground water in ten
' monitoring wells at the site and nine monitoring wells at the Van Buren site relative to the tops of
the well casings The ground water elevations and hydraulic gradient were determined from these
data(Table 2) '
Following measurement of ground water depths, wells MW-1, MW-2, MW-4, MW-13 MW-I9A
MW-19B,MW-20A,MW-20B,MW-21A and MW-21B were purged using a two-stage purge pump
' Monitoring was performed in accordance with the revised monitoring schedule established at a 03
April 1998 meeting with the PHS-EHD The purge pump was decontaminated prior to purging each
' well by pumping an Alconox solution followed by pumping tap water Monitoring wells MW-19A
and MW-20B were purged dry after approximately six to seven gallons of water was removed
Approximately three well-volumes of water(approximately eight to twenty gallons) were removed
from each of the remaining purged wells Temperature,pH and conductivity of purged water were
measured at regular purge volume intervals using an ICM model 52200 water analyzer The recorded
field data and logs are included in Appendix A All purged water was stored in 55-gallon DOT-
Advanced CeoEmironmental,Inc
