' SITE INVESTIGATION REPORT - UST No. 8 <br /> Former Chase Chevrolet (Madison) Facility <br /> 423 North Madison Street, Stockton,California <br /> ' 1.0. INTRODUCTION AND SCOPE OF WORK <br /> In accordance with the request of Mr Jeffery Setness of Hartmann & Setness, Advanced <br /> GeoEnvironmerital, Inc (AGE)has prepared this report of site investigation activities performed at <br /> 423 North Madison Street, Stockton, California Petroleum hydrocarbons were detected in samples <br /> ' collected dunng the removal of underground storage tank(UST)No 8 Although hydrocarbons were <br /> not detected by laboratory analytical methods, hydrocarbon odors were detected in soil samples <br /> collected from soil probe borings advanced near the former UST location Additional assessment <br /> was subsequently required by the PHS-EHD to determine the lateral and vertical extent of impacted <br /> soil and ground water in the vicinity of former UST No 8 <br /> ' The current scope of work included advancement of three soil probe borings and collection of soil <br /> and grab ground water samples The objective of this investigation was to determine the extent of <br /> impacted soil and ground water at the former location of UST No 8 The site location is illustrated <br /> on Figure 1 -Location Map Structures and soil probe boring locations are illustrated on Figure 2 - <br /> Site Plan <br /> lie Field work was performed in accordance with San Joaquin County Public Health Services - <br /> Environmental Health Division (PHS-EHD) and Regional Water Quality Control Board - Central <br /> Valley Region (RWQCB-CVR) guidelines for the investigation of UST sites <br /> 2 0. PROCEDURES <br /> 21 PROBING AND SAMPLING <br /> tOn 04 December 1997, three soil probe borings (probings) were advanced at the site using AGE's <br /> Geoprobe 5400 probing unit equipped with 1 25-inch diameter probe rods and a 2 15-inch diameter <br /> 1 soil sampling assembly Probings GP35, GP36 and GP37 were advance at the center, northeast and <br /> north of the former UST No 8 location and were advanced to depths of 45, 35 and 60 feet below <br /> surface grade(bsg), respectively Probing locations are shown on Figure 2 <br /> Soil samples were collected at five-foot intervals beginning at a depth of 15 feet bsg in GP35 and <br /> beginning at a depth of 10 feet bsg in GP36 and GP37 All samples were collected using the <br /> Geoprobe soil sampling assembly loaded with four 1 125-inch by 6-inch brass sleeves After <br /> collection, the ends of the second brass sleeve were covered with aluminum sheets, capped and <br /> sealed with tape The sleeves were labeled,placed in a chilled container and selected samples were <br /> rtransported to McCampbell Analytical, Inc (MAI) in Pacheco, California, under chain-of-custody <br /> Advanced CeoEnvironmental,Inc <br />
