i ' 27 February 2004 AGE-NC Project No 95-0144 ' Page 6 of 7 ' 3 3 ANALYTICAL RESULTS OF WATER SAMPLES During the August 2003 monitoring event, target analytes were not detected above laboratory ' reporting limits in the samples collected from wells MW-2, MW-4, MW-5 and MW-25 Analytical results for the third quarter 2003 monitoring event are summarized on Tables 3 and 4 Analytical results of recent and historical ground water samples are summarized on Tables 5 and 6 The-laboratory report (MAI Lab IDs 0308122-001 through 0308122-004) and chain-of-custody forms are included in Appendix E 14.0. SUMMARY/CONCLUSIONS Based upon data collected during the ground water monitoring event, AGE concludes ' The average ground water elevation at the site was 8 7 feet below MSL In the shallow screened monitoring wells Ground water remained above the screened interval in five of the shallow-screened wells sampled during the third quarter of 2003 Ground water elevations lie have decreased steadily since the • Ground water elevations In deep-screened wells,completed in the Lower Water Zone,were between 176 to 2 03 feet lower than in shallow-screened wells,completed within the Upper ' Water Zone • Ground water was inferred to flow towards the north-northeast in the Upper Water Zone,but ' was inferred to flow towards the north-northwest in the Lower Water Zone L S.O., RECOMMENDATIONS ' It is AGE's understanding that the monitoring well network at 423 North Madison Street, Stockton; California will be abandoned during first quarter 2004 as part of redevelopment activities at the site Based on the concentrations of petroleum hydrocarbons detected in on-site monitoring wells, AGE ' recommends replacement of the monitoring wells located near the former UST No 8 location In addition,remedial action should be initiated to address the petroleum hydrocarbon-impacted ground water plume at the site 1 1 ' Advanced GeoEnvironmental,Inc
