SUMMARY/CONCLUSIONS <br /> , <br /> Based upon data collected during the ground water monitoring event, AGE concludes <br /> • The average ground water elevation at the site was 8 1 feet below MSL Ground water <br /> remained above the screened interval in five of the shallow-screened wells sampled during <br /> , <br /> ' the second quarter of 2003 <br /> ' • Ground water elevations in deep-screened wells,completed in the Lower Water Zone,were <br /> between 1 40 to 1 70 feet lower than in shallow-screened wells,completed within the Upper <br /> , Water Zone I ' <br /> • Ground water was inferred to flow towards the north-northeast in the Upper Water Zone,but <br /> ' was inferred to flow towards the west-northwest in the Lower Water Zone <br /> • The most impacted ground water appears to be limited to the area surrounding the former <br /> UST No, 8 (Figure 4) TPH-g was detected in ground water samples collected from <br /> monitoring wells MW-2I A and MW-21 B at concentrations of 2,900 micrograms.per liter <br /> ' (dig/1)and 830 lig/l,respectively TPH-d was detected in samples collected from wells MW- <br /> 19A,MW20A,,MW-21 A and MW-2I B at concentrations of 90 µg/l, 86 µg11,3,900 41 and <br /> 430 dug/l,respectively Various BTEX constituents were also detected in samples MW-2IA , <br /> and MW-21B <br /> ' Fuel oxygenate MTBE was detected in 14 of the 15 monitoring wells at concentrations <br /> ranging from 0 55 µg/l (MW-20B)to 4 9 lugil (MW-4) Low concentrations of MTBE have <br /> been detected intermittently at the site since monitoring began The detected concentrations <br /> do not exceed the DHS' Maximum Contaminant Level of 5 [ig/1 <br /> 1 I <br /> 4 <br /> 5.0 RECOMMENDATIONS <br /> Based upon data obtained during the second quarter of 2003 and previous sampling events, AGE <br /> recommends ' <br /> ' • Continued quarterly,monitoring of the site The next quarterly monitoring event should be <br /> scheduled for August 2003, concurrent with monitoring at the former Chase Chevrolet Van <br /> Buren site r ` <br /> • Installation and initiation of the ground water extraction system proposed in the AGE- <br /> prepared Remedial ActionlAdditional Site Assessment Work Plan,dated 15 May 2003 <br /> Advanced GeoEn"ronmental,Inc <br /> , <br />
