1
y
24 April 2003
AGE-NC Project No 95-0144
' Ground water elevations in deep-screened wells, completed in the Lower Water Zone, were '
between 165 to 195 feet lower than in shallow-screened wells, completed within the Upper
Water Zone
• Ground water was inferred to flow towards the north-northeast m the Upper Water Zone, but
was inferred to flow towards the west-northwest in the Lower Water Zone
' • TPH-d was detected in the ground water sample collected from monitoring well MW-2
Detectible concentrations of petroleum hydrocarbons had not been detected in samples
' collected from MW-2 since November 2000 The detected concentrations of petroleum
hydrocarbons in MW-2 appear to be related to the recent decrease in ground water elevation
at the site The ground water table was approximately 1 1 feet above the screened interval
' of MW-2
• Target analytes were not detected above laboratory reporting limits in the samples collected
from wells MW4 and MW-5
' • The east, west and vertical extent of impacted groundwater near the former UST No 8 is not
well defined
' 5.0. RECOMMENDATIONS
Based upon data obtained during the first quarter of 2003 and previous sampling events, AGE
' recommends
• Continued quarterly monitoring of the site The next quarterly monitoring event should be
scheduled for May 2003, concurrent with monitoring at the former Chase Chevrolet Van
' Buren site
• Preparation of a Final Remediation Plan to address hydrocarbon-impacted groundwater near
' the former UST No 8
' 6.0. LIMITATIONS
Our professional services were performed using that degree of care and skill ordinarily exercised by
' environmental consultants practicing in this or similar localities The findings were based mainly
upon analytical results provided by an independent laboratory Evaluations of the hydrogeologic
conditions at the site have been made from a limited number of available data points (i a ground
' water monitoring wells, ground water samples) and subsurface conditions may vary through time
and with distance from these data points No other warranty, expressed or implied,is made as to the
professional interpretations, opinions and recommendations contained in this report
1
Advanced GeoEnvironmentai,Inc
