I 1 • <br /> 13 May 1998 <br /> • AGE-NC-95-0144 <br /> Page 2 of 5 <br /> 1 <br /> 3 2 EQUIPMENT DECONTAMINATION <br /> All sampling tools and brass sleeves used for sample collection will be thoroughly rinsed with clean <br /> water after washing with a solution of Alconox All hollow stem augers will be steam-cleaned prior <br /> to advancement in each borehole <br /> 3 3 MONITORING WELL COMPLETION <br /> The three soil borings will be dual completed as 2-inch diameter ground water monitoring wells The <br /> upper casing will be screened from approximately 32 to 12 feet bsg,the second casing will be screen <br /> from approximately 45 to 50 feet bsg, below the clay confining layer The proposed ground 'Water <br /> monitoring well construction diagram is included as Figure 3 <br /> , <br /> Monitoring wells will be developed utilizing a submersible pump or bailer Water will be purged <br /> from each well until purged water is essentially sediment free Purged groundwater will be stoi ed a <br /> on-site in DOT drums <br /> • A reference point will be marked on the top of each well head and will be surveyed the to the nearest <br /> 0 01-foot to determine the casing elevation relative to existing monitoring wells <br /> 3 4 GROUND WATER MONITORING/SAMPLING <br /> No sooner than 72 hours after installation, ground water monitoring procedures will be performed <br /> for each of the new wells The depth to water and total depth for each well will be measured A <br /> precleaned submersible pump or dedicated bailer will be used`to purge a inmimum of three casing <br /> tiolumes from each well Stabilization parameters will be measured in the purged water at regular <br /> intervals'Following well recharge of at least 80 percent, a sample will be collected from each purged <br /> well Purged water will be placed in 55-gallon DOT containers and stored on-site pending analytical <br /> results of water samples <br /> F , <br /> 3 5 LABORATORY ANALYSIS <br /> Samples will be transported under chain-of-custody in a chilled container, to McCampbell <br /> Analytical, Inc (MAI), a state-certified laboratory, for analysis Selected soil samples will be <br /> analyzed for <br /> . total petroleum hydrocarbons quantified as gasoline and diesel {TPH-g and TPH-d} in <br /> Advanced GeoEn-.iron mental,Inc <br /> f <br /> 1 , <br />
