U <br /> Working To Restore Nature <br /> A groundwater gradient plot was created for the December 20, 1994, monitoring episode. The <br /> gradient was generally consistent with previous data A groundwater gradient map is included <br /> as Plate 2 The gradient on the eastern portion of the site was generally northerly at 0 005 <br /> ft/ft, the gradient on the western portion of the site was to the north-northeast at 0 0015 ft/ft <br /> On December 20, 1994, groundwater samples were collected from wells MW-1, MW-2, and <br /> MW-4 through MW-9 after purging and stabilization of pH, electrical conductivity (EC), and <br /> temperature Monitoring well purge logs are included in Attachment 1 Floating petroleum <br /> hydrocarbon product was noted in well MW-3 with a thickness of 0 85 feet <br /> LABORATORY ANALYSIS <br /> Groundwater samples were collected from wells MW-1, MW-2, MW-4 through MW-9, and <br /> analyzed by Sequoia Analytical (FLAP Cert #1210) for benzene, toluene, ethylbenzene, <br /> xylenes (BTEX), and total purgeable petroleum hydrocarbons as gasoline (TPH as gasoline) by <br /> EPA methods 8020 and modified 8015, respectively A sample was not collected from MW-3 <br /> due to the presence of free product Laboratory analysis indicates the presence of petroleum <br /> hydrocarbons in the samples collected from MW-1, MW-2, MW-4, MW-6, MW-7, and MW- <br /> 9 Petroleum hydrocarbons were not present at or above method detection limits in the <br /> samples collected from wells MW-5 and MW-8 Analytical results are summarized in Table <br /> 3, laboratory reports and chain-of-custody documentation are presented in Attachment 2 <br /> FREE PRODUCT RECOVERY <br /> On September 15, 1994, RESNA installed an automatic free product removal system in well <br /> MW-3 As of December 20, 1994, approximately 4 to 5 gallons of free product had been <br /> recovered by this system The recovered product is stored in a double contained, DOT <br /> approved drum The quarterly monitoring and free product recovery program will continue <br /> and the next sampling event will be performed in March 1995 <br /> I <br /> 1500701QUARTLYI4QR-1994 doc <br />
