14 July 1997
AGE-NC Project No 95-0144
Stockton area
• The highest concentrations of dissolved hydrocarbons continue to be detected in MW-1,near
the former UST excavation
• Compared to the previous monitoring results, petroleum hydrocarbons detected in the water
samples at the site decreased in the last two quarters
• Petroleum hydrocarbons were not detected in samples collected from MW-13, which is
located approximately 100 feet up-gradient of the former UST location, nor in the sample
collected from MW-18, which is located down gradient of the former UST location
• Except for benzene in the sample obtained from MW-1, hydrocarbon concentrations were
generally below drinking water standards in the samples from the remaining wells
• The dissolved hydrocarbon plume at the site does not appear to be migrating
5.0. RECOMMENDATIONS
Based upon data obtained during the May 1997 and previous sampling events, AGE has the
following recommendations
• A revised Corrective Action Plan(CAP),which was prepared by AGE on 28 February 1997,
recommended removal of hydrocarbon-impacted soil at the former locations of UST No I
and UST No 8 and natural attenuation in the area of former UST Nos 3-6 Upon approval
of the CAP by the PHS-EHD,the recommendations should be implemented
• The next quarterly monitoring should be scheduled for August I997, concurrent with
monitoring at the Van Buren site
6.0. LIMITATIONS
Our professional services were performed using that degree of care and skill ordinarily exercised by
environmental consultants practicing in this or similar localities The findings were based mainly
upon analytical results provided by an independent laboratory Evaluations of the geologic
conditions at the site have been made from a limited number of available data points (I a ground
water monitoring wells), and subsurface conditions may vary through time and with distance from
these data points No other warranty, expressed or implied, is made as to the professional
recommendations contained in this report
Advanced CeoEnwronmental,Inc
