CONCLUSIONS AND RECOMMENDATIONS
1
41 CONCLUSIONS
1 Based upon data collected from the site, AGE has the following conclusions ,
J
• The highest concentrations of dissolved hydrocarbons continue to be detected in MW-1,near
the former UST excavation ,
I I f t y
Hydrocarbon concentrations in MW-1 showed an increase during the May 1996'samplmg
r event, which was followed by a decrease during the August 1996 sampling
F
• The dissolved hydrocarbon plume may extend on the order of 60 feet northward of MW-1
• Petroleum hydrocarbons were detected iii MW-13, approximately seventy feet up-gradient
of the former UST location, and'MW-5,approximately 20 feet equi-gradient westward of the
former UST location
• Petroleum hydrocarbons were not detected in wells MW-1I and MW-18 and only low
' concentrations of h)drocarbons were detected in the remaining wells at the site (except MW-
I
• Hydiocarbon concentrations were below drinking water standards for all wells except MW-1
9
5
42 RECOMMENDATIONS
J ,
Based upon data collected during the May and August 1996 sampling events,AGE has the following
' recommendations
• An addendum to the Conective Action Plan should be prepared, addressing comments by
' the PHS-EHD in a letter dated 10 May 1996
`` • If soil and/or ground water remediation is required by the PHS-EHD, installation of the
remedial system should be initiated
• The next quarterly monitoring should be scheduled for November 1996
50.
