Cherokee Lane
Lodi, CA 95240
On August 4, 2011, the San Joaquin County Environmental Health Department (EHD)
approved Corrective Action Plan (CAP), dated April 9, 2011, prepared by your consultant
Stephen G. Muir Consulting Geologist and Geophysicist (SMCGG). In the CAP, SMCGG
recommended soil vapor extraction/in-situ air sparing (SVE/IAS) to remediate soil and ground
water contamination caused by the unauthorized release from the former on-site underground
storage tanks (USTs).
The required public participation period for the CAP was completed on September 5, 2011. No
comments were received by the EHD from the public during the required period. The CAP
approval was considered final and should have been implemented within 12 months (see
SMCGG's implementation schedule in the CAP).
The State Water Resources Control Board Division of Financial Assistance (Cleanup Fund) has
made money available in the 2012-2013 budget period for remediation at your site. This 2012-
2013 budgeted allocation is available for remediation for the 2012-2013 fiscal year ending June
30, 2013.
Please provide the EHD and the CVRWQCB with a work plan (i.e. design, engineering, time
schedule) for the SVE/IAS remediation system installation and operation by December 24,
2012.
If you have any comments or further questions regarding this matter, please contact Harlin
Knoll at (209) 468-3442.
Harlin Knoll, REHS Nuel C.
