EHD has a
contract with the California State Water Resources Control Board to conduct a
UST corrective action program. The above referenced site was placed in the
EHD Local Oversight Program (LOP) in September 1989.
In 1988 five USTs were removed at the above referenced site. Soil samples
collected at the time of removal evidenced gasoline contamination. A
groundwater investigation was performed at the site. Three monitoring wells
(MW) have been installed on site and several other groundwater samples have
been collected both on and off site. Groundwater contamination has been
documented on and off site.
EHD sent you a letter on February 6, 1996. The letter stated that this is not a low
risk site and remediation will be required before the site can be considered for
closure with no further action. The letter also directed you to install additional
MWs to define the plume and install vapor extraction wells to conduct a pilot test.
Based upon the findings, a feasibility study would be completed and source
removal and groundwater cleanup performed. EHD also directed you to
complete a well receptor survey to identify all wells within a 2000 foot radius of
this site.
In 1997, Dana W. Booth prepared a Work Plan (WP) and a WP.addendum for
additional MWs, soil vapor testing, and a well receptor survey. This work was not
completed. Please contact EHD by February 28, 2002 regarding implementation
of the WP prepared by Dana W. Booth and WP preapproval by the Cleanup
Fund.
No Quarterly Groundwater Monitoring Reports have been received by EHD since
1997. Quarterly Reports are required until site closure is granted. Please
resume groundwater sampling and reporting. The three on site MWs must be
